Titan Track Bulletin - March 1, 2015
OUTDOOR OFF AND "RUNNING"
Many things were accomplished in the first two workouts of the outdoor season. We had good numbers and good efforts that bode well for the future. Lets keep the momentum going.
REQUIREMENTS
Make sure you complete the Register My Athlete requirements. Also, if you haven’t emailed your phone, parents email, etc., to me, "git er done".
FRIDAY’S WORKOUT
There won’t be many workouts harder than our "10 x 10's". This is a workout that you can make as hard or easy as you choose. Most made it HARD. The results were impressive as the top distances for the most part were much better than last year. Here are the top five for each category that will be eligible for the drawings Monday:
Girls sprinters/hurdlers/jumpers- Kayla Rees (1460), Akasha Galbraith (1450), Cidnee Davies (1380), Kaycee Adams (1380) and Brooklyn Dee (1370).
Boys sprinters/hurdlers/jumpers- Colten Yardley (1620), Loren Burrell (1620), Hunter Woodhall (1620), Daunte Atkinson (1620) and Broderic Hall (1582).
Girls distance- Isabella Williams (3450), Rachel Griffin (3135), Taya Tobler (3105), Abbey Greenhalgh (3080), and Kayla Snyder (3070).
Boys distance- Alex Danylo (3540), Will Cannon (3535), Jake Reynolds (3505), Tyler Stark (3480) and Josh Mecham (3397).
Great job by everyone who completed the workout. It was especially good to see the competitiveness of so many of you who were striving to get just a few more meters out of your body. Being tough and competitive in workouts translates into being tough and competitive in the meets.
THIS WEEK (weather may dictate)
Monday- Introductions to various events. Coaches will instruct on the basics of the high jump, pole vault, discus, javelin, start mechanics and hurdles.
Tuesday- The workout will start after the ACT test at 1:00.
Wednesday- Handoffs
Thursday/Friday - INTRASQUAD MEET
This meet will pit the Seniors against the Sophomores and Juniors. Boys and Girls scores will be added together to determine the winning TEAM. Info will be posted Monday.
SATURDAY- 10:00 am Workout, 12:00 Uniforms Issued. All eligibility requirements must be completed to receive a uniform (registermyathlete, physicals, fees paid, U’s cleared, GPA, etc.). Varsity uniforms will be issued according to marks set in the Intrasquad meet.
TRAINING / WORKOUT LOGS
Continue (or start) keeping and sending in your weekly logs. There will be $$ available for those who have not been sending them in yet. I will send out an email with the template and instructions. I’m convinced you will become a much better prepared athlete if you maintain the logs. So far, the top-10 are: Rachel Griffin, Hunter Woodhall, Arlyne Arteaga, Kalen Jordan, Jessop Oliver, Sydney Hansen, Treston Cullimore, Abbey Greenhalgh, Thomas Griffin and Tanner Kutterer. Many others are very close.
