NOTES:
DON'T FORGET- Workout Mon, Tues, Wed at the school at 9:00 am. Come to cross train if injured.
THANKS parents and coaches for the support. I dare say no other school had as many coaches spending the start of their spring break fighting the winds at Taylorsville.
GREAT WEEK OF “REAL” MEETS
The first week of state qualifying meets was a huge success for the Titans. Many state qualifying marks were set as well as many marks that qualified for Region. Now a week to recover from some injuries, but at the same time, keep or increase your fitness and preparation level. Don’t lose what you’ve worked so hard to obtain.
DAVIS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Thanks to everyone that helped make this meet a big success for our entire program. While the marks on the track and in the field were impressive, the efforts by so many of you to help out and make sure the meet was well-run were even more impressive. We are a better program because of your efforts.
The boys had a very good meet in finishing second in the TEAM title race. There were six first-place finishes, five state qualifying marks, and 16 all-time marks in the boys competition. UHSTCA INVITATIONAL
The wind played havoc with the marks at the UHSTCA meet held at Taylorsville High School. The heights, distances and times were not indicative of the efforts as the Boys finished 3rd and the Girls 10th with over 30 schools entering athletes. Headwinds in the 25-30 MPH range made PR’s nearly impossible. Athletes rounding the north turn and hitting the headwind looked like they had just jumped on a treadmill. Jake Zaugg had a great performance in the pole vault as he cleared a PR height of 14'03 in very tough conditions. That is the #2 mark in Utah this year, trailing only Zach’s 14'06 jump.
Medalists for the Boys were:
POLE VAULT
1st - Jake Zaugg, 14'03 (state qualifying mark, #2 on All-Time list)
2nd - Zach Watson, 13'06
HIGH JUMP
3rd - Jaxon Worthen, 5'10
8th - Karson Nielson, 5'06
SHOT PUT
4th - Spencer Hull, 45'07.75
DISCUS
3rd - Bradley Sherman, 129'09
100m DASH
8th - Kavika Fonua, 11.92
800m RUN
2nd - Brandon Yardley, 2:04.81
3rd - Jaxon Hansen, 2:04.98
1600m RUN
4th - Brandon Yardley, 4:32.78 (#5 All-Time)
110m HURDLES
4th - Jaxon Worthen, 16.68
7th - Shane Russell, 16.74
300m HURDLES
5th - Shane Russell, 43.10
