Titan Track Bulletin - April 5, 2015

SPRING BREAK IS OVER
OK, the break is over. Good job by those who continued to work out and make the most of any chance possible to keep training. There are four more weeks until the Region One Championships. Let’s make a commitment to give 100% each and every day. The break should have given you a chance to catch up on any other commitments that may have stood in the way of your Track commitment.

NORTHRIDGE DUAL
Wednesday we travel to Northridge for a Region dual meet. You are excused at 1:20- you must go to 4th period first or you will be considered absent!! The bus will leave at 1:30.

GRIZZLY INVITATIONAL
This meet is Saturday at Logan High. We realize it is also Prom- a track meet is a great day-date activity. Cheap and exciting. We are limited to four entries per event. I will pass around a sign up sheet Monday for those interested in competing. The entry deadline is Tuesday morning, so there is some rush in getting things done.  The bus will leave at 6:15 am.

ARCADIA INVITATIONAL
Congrats to Cidnee Davies, Isabella Williams, Kayla Rees and Brenn Flint for being accepted to compete in the Arcadia Invitational Saturday. This is one of the most prestigious high school track meets in the nation. Cidnee will compete in the 100m hurdles and long jump, Isabella in the 1600m run, Kayla in the 100m and 400m dashes and Brenn in the shot put and discus.

CONGRATS DAUNTE ATKINSON
Daunte was chosen as the Standard Star by the Standard Examiner. This was for his MVP performance at the Davis District Championships last week. It should be in Tuesday’s paper.

YEARBOOK PICTURES
Team pictures for the Yearbook will be taken Tuesday after practice (somewhere between 4:30 and 5:00). Have your uniform- you won’t be in the picture unless you are in your Track uniform.

ALUMNI ACTION
Mayra Franco (SUU) ran 11.99 in the 100m dash at the Stanford Invitational. That is the #4 all-time mark in SUU history. NOT BAD! Sharlie Dimick (SUU) ran 4:46.05 in the 1500m run at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational. That would be equal to about 5:07 for the 1600m. That’s Sharlie’s best performance of the season. Lindsey McFarland (WSU) turned in a 2:21.06 in the 800m run at the Northern Colorado Invitational. Cory Serfoss (Villanova) ran 55.44 in the 400m hurdles at the Colonial Relays in Virginia. He also ran a leg on their Sprint Medley Relay.
